ministry:
Summer League: (June-August)
The CCUSBL features 6 divisions; A, BB, B, C, W (women), Y (youth).
Teams are submitted by churches and/or christian organizations.
Spring Draft League: (February-May)
Featuring 6 men's teams and 3 women's teams, this league is set up
for fellowship and outreach by allowing players to play with different
teams every season through a draft format.
Fall Draft League: (September-December)
Similar to the "Spring League"
Invitational Tournaments: (Various Dates)
The CCUBL committee and the CCU Ambassadors sponsor annual one day
tournaments; the "Easter Classic" will be
held on the Saturday, a week before Easter Sunday; the "Summer
Bash" will be held at the end of August. Tournament format:
8-team, 1 day, 3 games guaranteed, prizes for tournament champions,
and team fellowship held per game. The "Trinity Tournament" is
a 3-on-3 tournament with pool play and playoffs
SOFTBALL
The CCU Softball League takes place from
June through August. This ministry has blossomed into a three
division league; A, B, and C. Teams are submitted by churches
or christian organizations associated with CCU. League format:
co-ed, 10 players on the field (3 women), round robin, playoffs
for comp. division only, and fellowship after every game.
VOLLEYBALL
The CCU Volleyball League takes place
in the summer, from June through August. This league features
a co-ed, 6-on-6 format that is fellowship-friendly.
ASIAN AMERICAN MINISTRY
As a new branch of CCU, this praise ministry
had it's kick-off event on Sunday, March 24th, 2002 hosted
by New Start Ministries. Still in it's infancy, the AAM is
an outreach driven by music and worship.
CCU AMBASSADORS
This CCU Basketball League ministry is
an outreach to other athletes. CCUBL sponsors a men's and a
women's basketball team to go out and play in other tournaments
year-round as ambassadors for Christ (hence, the team name "Ambassadors").
Each player is challenged to exemplify Jesus, on and off the
court; to compete in proper sportsmanship; and to help build
up the CCU basketball ministry as a whole. One of the major
tournaments the "Ambassadors" participate in is the "North
American Chinese Nationals Tournament". Tryouts are held
each year.
